Author Biography

Lucille Recht Penner was born in New York City and is an alumna of Barnard College. She has written 35 books for children on subjects ranging from dinosaurs to Native American food. Many of her books have been book club selections and two were Boston Globe Honor Books. Mrs. Penner lives in Tucson, Arizona and Portland, Oregon. Lynn Adams was born in Pennsylvania and graduated from Moore College of Art and Design. Her illustrations may be seen in Big Hand, Little Hand (Barron’s) and How Many Feet? How Many Tails? (Scholastic), as well as books from The Kane Press. In addition, her work has been published in Sesame Street Magazine and she has been designated Illustrator of the Month several times by Highlights for Children. Lynn’s home is Lakewood, Pennsylvania.
