ECHO 1-2-7 Vietnam 65-66

Take on the perspective of the Vietnam War from the eyes of a Marine platoon leader. Follow his platoon as they are given the task "to win the war at all costs" along with various other military units. This incredible story is full of courage and bravery as this platoon navigates the trials of war while becoming the glue that keeps everyone together. Thousands of military soldiers, Marines or not, fought for their country and for Vietnam, a country that was in the middle of a civil war. During their time at war, soldiers learned that politicians had lied to them. Meaning that their comrades have fallen due to the poor decisions, lies, and politics. However, that did not mean that the platoons would give up on each other. Together, they were able to get through even the toughest times.

Upon leaving the Corps, William Asbury (Bill) entered the field of education. He advanced through the administrative ranks to become high school principal and superintendent. Along the way, he finished his master's degree and doctorate in education administration. During his time teaching at various high schools, he also taught as an adjunct instructor for graduate-level courses in education administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, Old Dominion University, and Tidewater Community College. He retired from most of his education career in 1998 but continued working at New River Community College for a few more years.
Bill is married to his wife, Kay, and has two beautiful children, Kimberly and Clay. She fought a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis for many years before losing her battle in 2011.
The memories he shares in this book convey his deep affection for ECHO 1-2-7 181. He will forever be indebted to the corps for the foundation of success that it provided to him. He thanks the United States Marine Corps and those who serve or have served.
