Author Biography

Robert W. Messler, Jr., PhD, FASM, FAWS, Professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY), is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching after an accomplished career as an engineer, engineering manager, and technical executive. He has authored four other technical books in the area of joining and welding.
