Williams, the cofounder of the Crips gang and a nominee for both the Nobel Peace Prize and the Nobel Prize in Literature, became an anti-gang crusader before he was executed in December 2005. Author Biography

Stanley "Tookie" Williams, a death-row inmate at San Quentin State Prison, has tried to educate people about gangs and gang violence through his books and his Internet education program Barbara Cottman Becnel met Williams in 1993.
