otivational Interviewing (MI) is an innovative therapeutic strategy that recognizes that individuals proceed through a set of stages when preparing for, accomplishing, and maintaining behaviour change. MI is based on the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) which outlines five distinct stages of readiness to change: Precontemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, and Maintenance.
